Heaven forbid the internet become a public library!

Authors Guild sues Google over library project | CNET News.com: "The Authors Guild on Tuesday filed a lawsuit against search engine Google, alleging that its scanning and digitizing of library books constitutes a 'massive' copyright infringement."

Does anyone else think this is insane?

Yeah, that's interesting. I think I have mixed feelings, though I would be soooo lost without the Internet for books/information. As an author, it would be disturbing to lose $, but it surely isn't THAT bad!

Its weird to me that some authors, like Corey Doctorow, get it so thoroughly -- get the huge change that technology is causing to our species' interaction with ideas and symbols, and some authors (like the ones suing google) can be so utterly clueless.
Go Figure.
